once the sky lands
we make plans
and the fates of our lives
then changes hands
for people lose themselves
to the night
courage to those
who put up a fight
the mountain is high
and your numbers are few
but well worth the struggle
once you see the view.

FRIEND OR FOE
friend or foe
coup or caper
it all sounds good
while on paper
but when the time comes
to play your role
some come through
most often fold
be careful of the ones you let in
you may discover
they won’t let you win
publicly praising
quietly hazing
jealousy kills all, amazing
SHE
she paints herself pretty in the mirror
as i watch and float away
hanging from the words that she’d say
times like these, my mind slows down
erasing all the weight, like the lifting of a crown
everything has dissolved and we are just we
nothing else matters, nothing but she
now she stares back, cracking a smile
perfect teeth, i die from the smile
her lips then formed the words
